Singing bowl treatment
Experience how sound helps you release tension and bring your mind to rest.
A singing bowl treatment invites you into deep relaxation and stillness: a moment to slow down, listen, and simply be. As you lie comfortably, sounds and vibrations surround you and can be felt throughout the body, helping to release tension.
Many people experience a greater sense of calm and clarity in the mind after the treatment, along with a lighter feeling in the body. Your attention naturally drifts inward, without needing to do anything.
Information
A singing bowl treatment is a calming moment where you don’t have to do anything and can simply receive. As you lie comfortably, sounds surround you and invite you to slow down, let go, and sink deeper out of the mind.
During my travels through Thailand in 2023, I experienced my first singing bowl treatment. The deep mental relaxation I felt, together with the sense that tension was melting away, touched me so deeply that I decided to explore it further. Now, I share this experience in my practice, so you too can find a moment of calm in a world full of stimuli.
This treatment is for those who feel the need for stillness, relaxation, and a moment entirely for themselves.
What is a singing bowl treatment?
During a singing bowl treatment, different singing bowls and instruments are used to create harmonious, deep sounds. These sounds fill the space and can be experienced not only through hearing, but also as subtle vibrations in the body, which may help to soften tension and create a sense of calm.
Singing bowls originate from the Himalayan region, where they have been used for centuries in meditation and relaxation practices. The sounds produce vibrations that can travel through the body. As the body consists largely of water, these vibrations can resonate deeply within, contributing to a feeling of relaxation.
There are metal, gold-toned singing bowls with deep, grounding sounds, as well as crystal singing bowls with clear, refined tones. In my treatments, I combine different instruments to create a rich and layered sound field that invites relaxation and stillness.
When to choose a singing bowl treatment?
A singing bowl treatment is often chosen when you:
-
you notice that you’re often in your head and find it hard to shift into a state of rest
-
you’re looking for a different way to relax, where sound and vibration can be felt throughout your body
-
you get overstimulated easily and find it difficult to truly unwind
-
you feel like you’re always “on” and find it hard to slow down
-
you long for a moment where your body can soften and release tension
-
you need more calm and space, both in your mind and in your body
Many people experience deep relaxation and a quieter mind after a singing bowl treatment. Some feel lighter or more grounded, while others mainly notice more calm in the mind and relaxation in the body. Every experience is different and is welcome exactly as it comes.
What can you expect?
You lie comfortably on the treatment table, fully clothed, with a blanket over you. We begin the session with a Palo Santo ritual and a gentle scent experience, a quiet moment to arrive and bring your attention inward.
From there, you are guided step by step through the sounds. A monochord is placed on the body and combined with the clear tones of crystal singing bowls. I then work with crystal bowls around the chakra areas, followed by the deep, warm sounds of Himalayan singing bowls on and around the body.
During the treatment, soft, rhythmic rain-like sounds may be heard, combined with singing bowls and chimes. Towards the end, the sounds deepen with the resonance of the gong, together with the Himalayan bowls, followed by the light, clear tones of Koshi chimes.
You may notice your breathing naturally slowing down, your body feeling heavier, or your thoughts moving more into the background. It can feel as if you are sinking into a deeper state of rest. There is nothing you need to do or follow: you can simply lie down and receive.
Afterwards, there is space to gently return and take your time to integrate the experience. Many people notice that their thoughts fade into the background and the body relaxes more deeply.
