Japanese facial massage
A gentle facial massage for anyone looking to quiet the mind and release tension in the face.
Does your face often feel tense? Do you regularly notice tightness in your jaw, stiffness in your neck, or feel like your mind just won't slow down? Perhaps you're longing for a moment where nothing is expected of you and you can simply relax.
A Japanese Facial Massage invites you to slow down. As you rest comfortably on the treatment table, gentle massage techniques, subtle acupressure and a soothing head massage help soften tension in your face and bring a sense of calm to your mind.
Why choose a Japanese Facial Massage?
Tension often builds up unnoticed in the face, jaw, neck and head. You may find yourself constantly thinking, notice your face feels tired, or simply struggle to relax. Sometimes, taking a quiet moment where nothing is expected of you is exactly what you need to slow down and recharge.
A Japanese Facial Massage offers that moment. Through a combination of gentle massage techniques, subtle acupressure and carefully selected Ayurvedic oils, many people experience the treatment as a valuable moment for themselves. For some, it brings a feeling of relaxation in the face, while others notice a calmer mind or simply enjoy taking time to fully unwind. Every experience is personal, and there is no right or wrong way to experience the treatment.
What is a Japanese Facial Massage?
A Japanese Facial Massage is based on traditional Japanese massage techniques. During the treatment, gentle massage strokes are combined with subtle acupressure techniques on the face. Within this traditional approach, attention is also given to the meridians that, according to traditional Eastern philosophy, run through the face.
The treatment doesn't focus solely on the face. Your neck, shoulders and scalp are also included. I use carefully selected Ayurvedic oils to nourish the skin while supporting the smooth, flowing massage techniques.
Everyone experiences a Japanese Facial Massage differently. Some people mainly notice their face becoming more relaxed, while others find that both their body and mind begin to settle. Every experience is unique, and that's completely okay.
When might a Japanese Facial Massage be right for you?
A Japanese Facial Massage may be a wonderful choice if you:
-
experience tension in your face, jaw, neck or head;
-
often feel caught up in your thoughts and long to relax;
-
notice your face feels tired or tense;
-
would like to treat yourself to a peaceful moment;
-
are looking for more calm in both your body and mind.
After their treatment, many clients tell me they feel deeply relaxed and experience a greater sense of calm. Your own experience is personal and may be different each time.
What can you expect?
You'll lie comfortably on the treatment table with a warm blanket over you. We begin with a small Palo Santo ritual and a botanical mist to help you arrive, settle in and gently shift your attention inward.
The treatment starts with a massage of the shoulders and neck. From there, I massage the face using slow, rhythmic movements and carefully selected Ayurvedic oils. Gentle acupressure techniques are then applied before finishing with a relaxing head massage.
Most of the treatment takes place in silence, allowing you plenty of space to fully relax.
We finish with a short sound ritual using carefully selected instruments. Afterwards, you'll have time to quietly absorb the experience while enjoying a glass of water.
Why choose Mandy Treatments?
I consciously take my time with every Japanese Facial Massage. From the moment you arrive, you're invited to leave the busyness of the day behind. The peaceful atmosphere, the opening ritual, the treatment in silence and the closing sound ritual come together to create a deeply relaxing experience. There is nothing you need to do or achieve. For a little while, this time is completely yours.

Additional information
Clothing
You can keep your clothes on during a Japanese Facial Massage. If your shoulders and neck are accessible, I can include them in the treatment. A spaghetti-strap or strapless top works best for this.
Hair & Make-up
You're welcome to wear make-up. However, if you'd like the full treatment time to be spent on the massage itself, it's best to arrive with a clean face. Eye make-up can stay on, although it may smudge slightly.
During the treatment, I use Ayurvedic oils, which may leave your hair feeling a little oily afterwards. A mirror is available so you can freshen up before you leave.
