Japanese facial massage
Tension can quietly build up in the face, jaw or head without you noticing. The Japanese facial massage invites this tension to release in a gentle way, using rhythmic movements and light pressure point stimulation. As you lie comfortably, space is created for relaxation, and you may notice the face softening and the mind becoming calm.
The massage is performed with a natural Ayurvedic oil that nourishes the skin and supports the massage techniques. Many people experience not only deeper relaxation afterwards, but also a lighter and fresher feeling in the face and head.
Information
Experience relaxation with the Japanese facial massage
A Japanese facial massage is a gentle and refined treatment for those who experience tension in the face, neck or head, or who long for a moment of calm and attentive care. The massage invites you to slow down and works not only on the face, but can resonate throughout the entire body.
What is a Japanese facial massage?
This facial massage is inspired by traditional Japanese massage techniques and uses calm, rhythmic movements and pressure points on the face. During the treatment, meridians that run through the face and connect with the rest of the body are also gently stimulated. As a result, many people experience that the relaxation is not limited to the face, but flows through the body as a whole.
For the massage, I use a carefully selected Ayurvedic oil that feels pleasant on the skin and supports the massage techniques. The oil contributes to a nourished skin experience and helps soften the face during the treatment.
When to choose a Japanese facial massage?
A Japanese facial massage is often chosen when you:
-
feel tension in the face, jaw or forehead
-
notice that relaxation in the face resonates throughout your whole body
-
long for rest without a full body massage
-
wish to enjoy a nourishing and relaxing moment
Many people experience this massage as a gentle, flowing treatment in which the body relaxes along with the face and the mind settles into calm.
What to expect?
You lie comfortably on the treatment table with a blanket placed over you. The massage unfolds at a calm pace and is carried out with care and attention. Using gentle movements, strokes and light pressure points, the face is massaged in combination with the Ayurvedic oil. The treatment is completed with an Ayurvedic facial elixir, which nourishes the skin and brings the moment to a soft and refined close.
Every experience is different: sometimes you may feel warmth, tingling or a sense of flow through the body; at other times, deep stillness and calm. You don’t have to do or experience anything in particular, everything is welcome, exactly as it comes.

Contraindications
Contraindications for the Japanese Facial Massage
A Japanese facial massage is a gentle and relaxing treatment. In certain situations, however, it is important to be extra mindful. It is best not to undergo a treatment if you have a fever, flu or another infectious illness, if there is inflammation or active acne on the face (a few blemishes are not a problem), or if you have a cervical hernia. This massage is also not recommended during pregnancy.
In addition, the treatment is less suitable if you have open wounds, skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, or if you have recently had an injury or surgery to the face, neck or shoulders. After cosmetic treatments such as Botox, fillers or chemical peels, it is advisable to allow sufficient recovery time first. This massage is also not recommended if you have thrombosis in the neck or shoulders, allergies to oils, or if you are currently receiving psychiatric treatment or have a history of psychosis.
The Japanese facial massage is intended to support relaxation and well-being and does not replace medical care. If you are unsure whether this treatment is suitable for you, always consult your treating physician first.

Japanese facial massage
The session begins with the gentle scent of Palo Santo and a botanical spray, allowing you to arrive calmly. This is followed by the Japanese facial massage. Using rhythmic movements and gentle pressure point stimulation, the face, neck, shoulders and head are treated. This invites tension to release and supports a relaxed, fresh appearance. We conclude the treatment with the harmonising sounds of Koshi chimes (wind gongs) and other instruments, creating a light and relaxed transition back to the here and now.
With a 1.5-hour session, we take extra time for all massage techniques. The final ten minutes are dedicated to singing bowls and other instruments, further deepening relaxation.
Please note: additional contraindications apply when singing bowls are included. [View more information here]

Clothing
During the Japanese facial massage, you can keep your clothing on, as long as your shoulders and neck are free. A top with spaghetti straps or without straps works best.
Hair & make-up
Wearing make-up is no problem. Please note that removing make-up takes approximately five minutes of your treatment time. If you would like the full session to be devoted to the massage, please arrive with a clean face. Eye make-up may remain on, although it may smudge slightly.
During the massage, oil is used, which may make your hair a bit oily. A mirror is available so you can tidy your hair afterwards.
