Chi Wit back massage
Focused on releasing tension in the back, with a deep relaxation that carries through the entire body.
Do you feel tension in your back, neck, or shoulders? Or do you notice that you are often in your head and find it difficult to truly relax? The Chi Wit back massage invites you to release tension and experience a renewed sense of space in your body.
With a combination of Thai, Vietnamese, and Indian massage techniques, the back is treated with care, with the spine as the central line. By working along this line, areas of tension can soften, creating more relaxation not only in the back, but often in the head as well.
During the treatment, you may notice yourself gradually dropping out of your head and settling back into your body.
Information
Chi Wit means “tree of life” and refers to the spine: a central line in the body that supports and connects. Along this line run many nerves and connections to the rest of the body. When tension builds up here, it can affect how you feel, both physically and mentally.
The Chi Wit back massage is a calm and attentive treatment that brings together techniques from Thai, Vietnamese, and Indian traditions. Using a combination of flowing movements and, where needed, slightly deeper pressure, I work along the back and spine. Despite this deeper touch, the massage remains gentle and relaxing in nature, with the aim of softening tension and creating space in the body.
Within this treatment, I also work with what is referred to in yogic traditions as kundalini energy: a form of life energy believed to be present at the base of the spine and, when the body relaxes, able to move along this central line.
Who is this massage for?
The Chi Wit back massage may be suitable for you if you:
• experience tension in your back, neck, or shoulders
• notice that this tension affects how you feel, such as restlessness, fatigue, or a busy mind
• find yourself often in your head and in need of relaxation in your body
• tend to keep going and rarely take time to truly rest
• long for more space and softness in your body
Many people notice that as tension in the back softens, a sense of calm also arises in the mind and throughout the body.
What can you expect?
You lie comfortably on the treatment table, with your body warmly covered. We begin the session with a Palo Santo ritual: a gentle moment to arrive and bring your attention inward.
The treatment takes place in a calm and quiet setting, allowing you to completely relax.
The back is then massaged with the spine as the central line. Using slow, flowing movements and, where needed, slightly deeper pressure, I work along the back, shoulders, and neck, always attuned to what your body needs in that moment. The back of the legs and a short foot massage are also included, allowing the body as a whole to relax.
During the treatment, you may notice your breathing becoming slower, your body feeling heavier, and your thoughts moving into the background. There is nothing you need to do: you can simply lie down and receive.
We close the session with the soft sounds of the gong, chimes, and Koshi bells, creating a gentle transition back to the present moment.
What might you experience?
Many people experience after the Chi-Wit back massage:
• less tension in the back, neck, and shoulders
• a deep state of relaxation
• more ease and freedom of movement
• a sense of space in the body
• greater clarity in the mind
Each experience is different and can be exactly as it comes. Everything is welcome and unfolds at your own pace.

Contraindications
The Chi Wit back massage is a relaxing treatment, but it is not suitable in all situations. It is important not to book a massage if you have an infectious illness, such as a fever, flu, a severe cold, or a throat infection. In cases of epilepsy, ongoing psychiatric treatment, or a history of psychosis, the massage is only possible after consultation with your treating physician.
The treatment is also not recommended if you have high blood pressure or diabetes that requires medication, cancer, heart conditions or irregular heart rhythms, or open wounds.
The massage may be less suitable if you are experiencing thrombosis, severe varicose veins, skin problems or contagious skin conditions, or if you have recently had a trauma or surgery. If you are using blood thinners, a massage may not be appropriate. During the first three months of pregnancy, this treatment is not recommended; after that period, I am unfortunately unable to offer the Chi Wit back massage, as it is difficult to perform in a side-lying position.
The Chi Wit back massage is intended to support relaxation and well-being and does not replace medical care. If you are unsure whether this treatment is suitable for you, please consult your physician beforehand.
